The National Construction Code 2019 edition of the code has recently been released in preview format for building surveyors and other industry users to gauge the wide variety of changes ahead of the 1stMay 2019 release date (Please note that in Western Australia, the 2016 edition of the code can still be used in the transition period up until the 1stMay 2020).
Although the 2019 code provides an increased number of deemed-to-satisfy provisions, the ABCB have also adopted the largest number of verification methods to address the amended format of the NCC performance requirements and to align with the vision that the BCA is a performance-based code.
